Blue Light Acne Treatment is a pain-free, non-invasive treatment method for all ages. Blue Light affects the bacteria that causes acne, which decreases the incidence of new acne. Light therapy also stimulates the body’s natural repair mechanisms to assist with skin recovery. Regular Blue Light treatments can dramatically help decrease and prevent new acne lesions.
Eliminating the bacteria from the skin with help from blue light decreases the inflammation associated with red pimples (papules) seen in acne. After a number of treatments, the blemishes disappear and skin regains its normal appearance.

Blue light kills the acne-causing bacteria known as Propionibacterium acnes, (P. acnes), which can cause inflammation. P. acnes is sensitive to blue light. Using the blue light eliminates the bacteria found in the oil glands in the skin. The added presence of infrared light (heat) in the device causes the oil glands to shrink in size. The result is less oil in the skin and less bacteria, leading to the resolution of acne in the treated areas. We often see acne lesions diminishing as we are treating!

Do I need an initial consultation?
It is not necessary for you to have a consultation prior to Blue Light Acne Treatment, however we offer a 15 minute complimentary consultation, which is advisable, as your skincare aesthetician can assess your skin and recommend an appropriate course of treatments.

Blue Light Acne Treatment is completely safe. It is FDA approved, and does not omit any form of UV light.
Is the treatment painless?
Yes! Infact, the treatment is actually quite relaxing. You will not feel anything apart from a gradual warmth in the skin.

Yes! Blue light can be applied to any acne lesions and inflamed areas on any part of the face or body.
How long do the results last?
Most of our clients receive satisfactory results, and a significant reduction in acne lesions and inflammation. We recommend a monthly maintenance after your course of treatments to maintain the results.
