Milia, also known as milk spots, are small white cysts located just under the epidermis (the uppermost layer of skin). They form from the excess build up of keratin, naturally found in the skin, hair and nails.
In terms of location, they most commonly appear around the eyes or on the cheeks. Despite the skin being thinner in these areas, because milia form near the top layer of the skin, they can be easily removed by one of our practitioners.
Having milia doesn’t represent a risk to your health, but can be unsightly and most people undergo milia removal for aesthetic purposes.
At Cranwell House, we have kept to the most simple and effective milia removal technique.
Using a sterilised milia removal needle and the skill of our practitioners, you will leave our clinic feeling great about your clear skin.
Prices vary from one individual to another, depending on the areas needed to be treated.
We will discuss the price as well as the details of your treatment during your free consultation.
Milia appear most commonly in the following facial areas:
Our milia removal treatment will treat your stubborn white spots.
Milia can often be known as milk spots, or oil seeds.
Using a sterile needle specially designed for milia removal, one of our expert facial aestheticians will create a small incision in the skin covering the milk spot, allowing for the careful extraction of the milia.
The skin in and around the treatment areas is cleaned before treatment to ensure the incision wounds will heal correctly.
No scarring or trauma to the skin is caused during the process and return treatments are not necessary (unless more milia appear).
